At The Orthotic Works we are always interested in hearing from talented, motivated people who want to join us. We are a busy custom orthotics business working at agricultural, equestrian and consumer shows across the UK, as well as from our York base. If you have a background in biomechanics, podiatry and orthotics, or a related medical or technical field, and you enjoy variety, travel and working directly with customers, we would love to hear from you.


Who we are looking for

We are particularly keen to hear from people who can assess customers and prescribe custom orthotics, run our shows and events, and bring a genuine understanding of lower-limb biomechanics. That might anyone with a biomechanics focus, an orthotist, a biomechanics or sports science graduate, or someone from a related clinical or technical background. Recent graduates and people looking for a change from a clinic setting are very welcome, full training is provided in our methods and products.


Current roles


Orthotic Technician & Event LeadFull-time, salaried · York-based with UK travel

You will carry out digital gait analysis, assess and prescribe custom FFOs, and lead our team on-site at shows and events across the UK.

Full training and a funded Diploma in Orthotics & Biomechanics provided. Driving licence required. 3–4 events per month during the season, with accommodation always arranged and TOIL for weekend work.

Ideal background: A background with a biomechanics focus, orthotist, biomechanics or sports science graduate, or related clinical/technical field.

Orthotic Sales AssistantsFreelance, event-based · February to November

We are always looking for enthusiastic Sales Assistants to join our freelance event team. You will be the first point of contact for customers at live events, introducing them to custom orthotics and helping drive on-site sales.

Pay: day rate plus team commission. Accommodation arranged for multi-day events.

Ideal background: previous customer-facing sales experience (health, fitness, wellness or medical products is a plus). Confident communicator, comfortable outdoors and on weekends.

Customer & Operations SupportPart-time · York office · Tue–Thu, 10:00–16:00

A friendly, organised person to support our customer service, order processing and event administration from our York office.

Three days a week, 18 hours total which can be increased at busy times throughout the year.

Ideal background: previous admin or customer service experience is helpful but not essential — training provided.
